Reverse Acting Crocodile Tooth Rupture Disc / YE Series

Product Overview

The convex of reverse acting rupture disc is on the high pressure process side. When the metal disc is compression-loaded, the disk reverses with a crocodile tooth diaphragm cutting it to relieve pressure.

Bursting Disc Device

A bursting disc device is a pressure relief device that cannot be reclosed. It is activated by the static pressure at the inlet and relieves pressure through the rupture of a pressure-bearing diaphragm. Simply put, it is a one-time pressure relief device: under the set bursting temperature, when the pressure difference between the two sides of the bursting disc reaches a predetermined value, the bursting disc will act (rupture or fall off) and release the fluid.

The design and manufacture of bursting discs shall comply with the provisions of relevant safety technical specifications. A product quality certificate shall be provided along with the product when it leaves the factory, and a firm metal nameplate shall be attached to the product.

Suitable for safety valve isolation/

When installed beneath a safety valve, the rupture disc isolates the valve's working components from corrosive media.

Venting assembly components: pressure gauge, tee fitting, relief valve, and adapter nipple

Structural Features:

When the rupture disc reaches the burst pressure, it first loses stability and inverts. Subsequently, the surrounding area of the disc is sheared off by the tooth ring behind it. The sheared part is held in place by the retainer to prevent it from flying out.

Technical Characteristics:

· Suitable for low-pressure applications.

· Excellent backpressure resistance; capable of withstanding full vacuum without the need for a support bracket.

· No fragments are generated during bursting.

· Can be used in series with a safety valve.

· The allowable operating pressure can reach up to 90% of the burst pressure.

Applicable to low-pressure working conditions.

No fragments generated after bursting; recommended for series use with safety valves.

Capable of withstanding full vacuum conditions without the need for additional backpressure brackets.

The maximum operating pressure can reach up to 90% of the minimum allowable burst pressure.

If fluorine coating or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) cladding is required, the maximum service temperature is 260℃.
