Flameless explosion venting device can be used for the protection of indoor and outdoor dust explosion,without other operating costs,easy installation,and no need to install pressure relief pipe.It shall at least consist of a explosion venting panel and fire resisting components.

Working Principle

When an explosion occurs,the explosion venting panel opens,and then the fire passes through the mesh fire resisting components,the fire resisting components will exchange heat with fire,quickly cooling the high temperature,relieving pressure and fumes to ensure the fire will not spread so that prevent it from secondary explosion or multiple explosions,at the same time,the pressure waves or noise generated by the explosion will be minimized.

Use and Maintenance

The flameless relief device is a passive, mechanical principle of action and requires no commissioning after installation.
It is recommended that the safety zone be defined according to the diagram below to ensure that no additional injuries are caused in the event of a dust explosion. Where: d1 > 1m (for equipment buildings); d2 > 2.5m (for personnel).
Regularly inspect the surface of the flameless relief device for accumulation of dust, snow, ice, or the presence of other buildup that interferes with the proper functioning of the relief device, and if so, remove it by appropriate means.
Regularly inspect the pressure relief element (bursting plate) for breakage, the inspection period should be no more than 1 month.
Regularly check the fire extinguishing element for blockage, the inspection period should be no more than 1 week.
If the pressure relief element is found to be broken, it should be shut down and replaced in time. During the replacement process, it should be ensured that there is no residual dust or effective ignition source.
If there is an optional alarm output, please check the wiring regularly for any abnormality, and the inspection cycle is recommended to be no more than 1 week.
If the flameless relief device is found to be leaking powder or air, the rupture plate may have burst due to overpressure, which can be initially checked through the inspection port.
If there is an optional alarm output, when there is a signal display on the alarm output, it means that the bursting board is ruptured and the replacement of the bursting board is required.
When the dust explosion, the flameless relief device releases smoke and accompanied by sound, if this happens, please stop the machine immediately to check.
After the dust explosion, please do not touch the flameless relief device to avoid burns.

Where should each piece of equipment in a complete chemical workshop be installed?

•A rupture disc is installed on the reaction kettle to prevent physical overpressure.

• A pipeline flame arrester is mounted on the exhaust pipe of the reaction kettle to prevent flame flashback.

• If the reaction kettle is at risk of dust explosion, a flameless venting device may be installed to achieve both pressure relief and flame extinguishing.

• A terminal vent flame arrester is fitted at the outlet of the breather valve of the solvent storage tank in the workshop to prevent external ignition sources (such as lightning strikes) from entering the storage tank.
