Field assembly of a rupture disc involves multiple steps: aligning flanges, inserting gaskets correctly, and applying proper, even bolt torque. Any mistake can cause leakage or affect burst performance. Our pre-assembled unit solves this. The rupture disc is correctly installed in its holder, which is then bolted between two pipeline flanges with the correct gaskets in our factory. The entire assembly is proof-tested, torqued, and shipped as one piece. On-site, it is simply welded or bolted into the line, drastically reducing installation time and eliminating potential human error.

Q: How do I install this pre-assembled unit?
A: The unit is installed like any other pre-fabricated spool piece. It is positioned between the two waiting pipe ends, and the downstream and upstream welds are made (for welded systems), or it is bolted between existing flanges. The internal rupture disc assembly requires no further attention.
Q: What if my pipeline spacing isn't exact?
A: The unit is manufactured to a specified face-to-face dimension. It is crucial to provide this required length accurately during ordering. For flexibility, we can also supply the disc pre-installed in a holder alone (two-flange assembly), which is still simpler than a three-piece kit.
Q: Can the disc be replaced in the unit after installation?
A: No. This unit is not designed for field service of the disc. After activation, the entire pre-assembled spool piece is cut out and replaced with a new unit. The benefit is speed and certainty of correct replacement.
