Forward Acting rupture disc
Good Backpressure Tolerance
* **Integrated Backpressure Support**: Most forward-acting slotted discs are manufactured with a **"vacuum support" or "backpressure support ring"** attached to the concave side. This ring prevents the disc from deforming or failing prematurely due to reverse pressure from the downstream side (e.g., from a blocked relief line or backflow from a common header), ensuring it activates only at the set forward overpressure.
Fragment-Free Design, Protects Downstream Equipment
* **Integrated Structure**: After bursting, the fractured "petals" remain attached to the holder via unbroken sections, preventing them from detaching and entering the relief piping. This **protects downstream valves, piping, or treatment equipment**, which is especially important for toxic, hazardous media or when downstream equipment is critical.
Typical Specifications
Burst Pressure Range: From 0.1 bar (1.5 psi) to high-pressure ratings, depending on size and material.
Operating Ratio (% of burst pressure): Typically up to 90% for standard discs, and up to 95% for high-cycle fatigue-rated versions.
Temperature Range: Standard designs from -200°C to +400°C (-328°F to +752°F). Special designs available for higher temperatures.
Size Range: Standard sizes from 1/2" (DN15) to over 24" (DN600). Custom sizes available.
Standards Compliance: Can be designed and manufactured to comply with ASME Section VIII (UD & UV stamps), PED 2014/68/EU (CE Mark), ISO 4126, and other international standards.
Optional Accessories & Variants
Indicator Wires/Probes: For electrical burst detection alarm systems.
Peel-Off Seals: Protects the process side from contamination during installation.
Pre-Assembled Disc/Holder Units: For simplified, error-proof installation.
Double-Vacuum Support: For higher backpressure tolerance.
Special Coatings: PTFE, FEP, or gold coatings for enhanced corrosion resistance or product adhesion prevention.
