Working Principle
Under normal operating conditions, the dome withstands system pressure. When the pressure reaches the disc's predetermined burst rating, the tensile stress at the slot tips exceeds the material's ultimate strength. The disc fractures completely along the slot lines, causing the formed "petals" to fold back smoothly against the holder, offering unrestricted, full-open flow.
Typical Specifications
Burst Pressure Range: From 0.1 bar (1.5 psi) to high-pressure ratings, depending on size and material.
Operating Ratio (% of burst pressure): Typically up to 90% for standard discs, and up to 95% for high-cycle fatigue-rated versions.
Temperature Range: Standard designs from -200°C to +400°C (-328°F to +752°F). Special designs available for higher temperatures.
Size Range: Standard sizes from 1/2" (DN15) to over 24" (DN600). Custom sizes available.
Standards Compliance: Can be designed and manufactured to comply with ASME Section VIII (UD & UV stamps), PED 2014/68/EU (CE Mark), ISO 4126, and other international standards.
